It’s almost time for back to school and these alphabet activities will come in handy!
As a preschooler, I don’t really think a lot is expected for them to know. Some basics are good though, like colors,

I found a simple way to have Henry work on writing [fine motor skills] as well as refreshing his counting skills.
I also wanted to give him confidence that he could create drawings with just simple lines.

I think it really makes the kids think they’re making something really special. Last year they made a piece of art on canvas with the frozen paints 
Bowling is fun for all ages! Even the littlest kids can get a kick out of it just by watching you knock down the pins!
Indoor bowling can be done on a whim so easily! Just take a look around your house for

The boys have been loving their dirt patch. Henry keeps talking about making mud and turning it to dirt and the other way around, not fully understanding it I don’t think.
A simple play prompt.
Play dough. Tees. Straws. And pipe cleaners added later.
The boys and I made play dough and I simply added these items to it.
It was a great sensory activity because the play dough was still even warm from making 

I don’t think is can get much more basic than threading with straws, can it?
That’s what I’m all about lately. Getting back to the basics. The simple activities. That are easy to whip up and stuff I have [and you probably do 
Henry’s imagination has been in full gear lately.
His stories at bedtime are unbelievable. Along with unending…
He often sets up the couch as a tractor for some pretend play and drives along and does his work for the day. [Seriously, this kid works 
So, can I credit my mom for an activity?
My husband picked up the kids at my parents’ house last week [I was still decorating cakes at suppertime...], and he found them painting her sidewalk with water. Henry told me that night during 
Henry’s on another play dough kick since his birthday.
He got all these little construction machines, and cones and people as a gift and it turned out to be a great addition to play dough that entertained them for hours.
