I have been on a kick of finding easy winter crafts for kids to make when its cold!
I’ve shared 40 winter activities and craft ideas for toddlers (lots of snowmen and snow crafts, sensory activities that are geared toward the 2 year old age), along with 21 fine motor winter crafts to do with the kids that work on squeezing, beading, threading and so many great ways to sneak in fine motor skills with preschoolers along a chilly theme.
But here are 28 more fun winter craft projects for kids, because, seriously… cannot get enough of these.
While I may be tired of of the cold and snow by February, I will absolutely not be tired of seeing these adorable winter crafts everywhere! Crafts somehow makes the colder months not so bad after all.
By the way, we have a week of winter fun for you to download and print off (or use it on your phone). It’s planned out for you for easy reference. You’ll love it. Get it here.
On a snowy day, grab some of your favorite craft supplies, yarn, paper plates, googly eyes, cotton balls and craft sticks and you’ll be making a snowman craft, polar bear craft, snowy owl craft, winter tree art, paper snowflake crafts… well, just read on and choose which perfect winter craft you’ll make today!
Or maybe incorporate these simple crafts into an arctic/antarctic theme, polar animals, or just a fun snow day theme!
You’ll now be set for any snow day with these winter wonderland ideas, whether you make them for a keepsake decoration or ornament, or gift them to a friend.
Outdoor Winter Kid Crafts:
These crafts can be brought outdoors to enjoy!
Winter decorations that freeze are generally fun to hang outside because other times of the year it just isn’t doable! Plus feeding the birds can be fun to watch.
Polar Animal Crafts:
I cannot share winter crafts for kids without including the animals of the Arctic and Antarctic. Or just “winter” animals.
Penguins and polar bears may be on opposite ends of the earth, but you can create them side by side!
Don’t forget those beautiful snowy owls and an arctic fox, too!
Winter Tree Crafts:
Trees without leaves are a staple of winter. They’re beautiful with snow fallen on them or icicles hanging from them, they become the perfect setting of a winter craft for kids.
You can create some gorgeous winter tree crafts to enjoy indoors as well. Trees are the perfect winter art project for kids!
Snowflakes, Snow Globes, Snowmen & Igloo Crafts:
Celebrate all things snow with a fun snowman craft, paper snowflakes, and a snow globe!
These crafts spring to chilly life in 2D and 3D.

What about kids who’s parents are to busy to help them? Is there any non-messy cute craft ideas that parents and kids will love? And the materials? What about the kids that don’t have crafty things? Why not use around the house things that parents won’t not like them using?

There are definitely lots of ways to make crafts less messy – use contact paper or stickers instead of glue, crayons or colored pencils instead of paint or markers. This article has some other ideas (https://handsonaswegrow.com/10-tips-to-keep-messy-play-clean/) You can also find ways to use what you have instead of buying a lot of supplies. Have fun!
