Fine Motor Activities for Kids

Browse through our many fine motor activities for babies, toddlers and preschoolers below!
These activities work on the little movements of those small muscles that young kids need to strengthen to get them ready to write with pencils and crayons and use a scissors with ease!
What are Fine Motor Activities?
In the simplest of terms, our small motor activities found below focus in on strengthening the smaller muscles (especially in the hand) that help your child hold on to a pencil, or have the strength to use a scissors or a hole punch.
Fine motor skills also include hand-eye coordination and crossing the midline. Which in my mind, includes concentration and precision, having the stability and mental connection from eye to hand to be able to connect the dots.
These skills of precision and strength of finger grasp and pincer grip (picking up and holding objects with their index finger and thumb) often requires small objects so please always supervise activities when doing them with small children that tend to put items in their mouth.
