There’s more than just a traditional Easter egg hunt to do on Easter morning! These are some fun Easter scavenger hunt ideas for kids to do to celebrate and have fun with Easter!
If you’re a somewhat long time reader of Hands On As We Grow, we absolutely love any type of scavenger hunt. And the Easter egg hunt is the traditional scavenger hunt that started it all.
It’s what hundreds of thousands of kids do year after year on Easter morning.
It’s what I remember doing as a child, exploring and searching for those eggs, hoping we can find them all so we don’t have a rotten egg in a few days.
There are many versions of an Easter egg hunts, and even some that don’t include the eggs!
12 Not-So-Traditional Easter Scavenger Hunt Ideas
These 12 Easter scavenger hunt ideas have some fun learning ideas, some Easter egg hunts with a twist, along with some that don’t include eggs at all!

How to do Easter scavenger hunt?
As you can see in the list above, an Easter scavenger hunt doesn’t have to be difficult! You can add any twist to bring extra excitement.
From simply hiding eggs all over the house or yard and releasing kids to explore and search for them, to having clues at each spot to send you off to the next.
kids just love to hunt for things. It’s like hide and seek, but mommy and daddy don’t have to keep taking turns to be the hider and seeker.

HELP I am looking for ideas for Easter egg hunt for residents in a nursing home. They are in wheel chairs and some need assistance with anything they do. It will need to be indoors. I have Googled, but it is very time consuming. thanks

Tie small floating balloons to each egg. They can pull on the string to lift the egg. If you want more of a challenge for finding the eggs, pin the string under the egg close to the balloon so it won’t float as high. When they find the egg they can kick/bump into the balloon to free the string.

Last year we had our 4 year old granddaughter with us on Easter so I made her an Easter bag out of a chicken feed bag filled it with fun stuff for her to find. Gave her a map .. scavenger hunt was on. I drew a picture map showed going from our house that took her to where the goats lived and in their house she found a plastic egg that had another picture map in it that she had to follow, this took her to the chickens nesting boxes where she had to collect real eggs and yes she found another plastic egg … another map and clue…. last clue and map after visiting all the animals was to her grand prize…. her Easter chicken feed bag filled with lots of fun things.
