- tray or cookie sheet
Wooden Pattern Blocks Snowflake Designs Challenge
First you’ll need to gather a bunch of wooden pattern blocks.
These blocks are pretty inexpensive and so versatile! We use them for tons of different activities and learning games.
I challenged my kids to create a snowflake design with their pattern blocks.
This activity is super open-ended, so it worked for both the older kids and my preschooler.
Everyone is able to play on their own level and let their imagination run wild!
I gave each child a cookie sheet tray to place their pattern blocks on.
It’s a good idea to do the snowflake patterns on a flat surface so the blocks stay put.

The kids explored creating snowflakes with different shapes and colors.
They made some with diamonds and some with circles.
They loved combining the pattern blocks and creating new designs over and over again.
