Try this easy woven strawberry basket craft, from Julie, to make a cute upcycled storage bin!
My kids are collectors. Whether it’s rocks or hot wheels, dolls or just random objects, they’re always collecting something.
But then we’re left trying to figure out where to put all of their great collections. Even though I love their rock collections, it’s not really something I’d like scattered all over my house.

Start Weaving Your Strawberry Basket Craft
This project is incredibly simple, but it does take a good bit of time. We worked on the weaving for a while, taking several breaks in the process.
Weaving can make little hands tired. If your child gets antsy, let them go play and come finish later!
Your child will love this quick fork weaving activity!
To begin, we made sure to wash the strawberry basket and get it all clean.
Next, we prepped the yarn by taping the end, so it looked kind of like a shoe lace. This makes it much easier for younger children to weave through the small holes of the basket.
We added layer upon layer, working our way up the basket. You can either tie the yarn when you get to the end of the piece, or just weave in the opposite direction to secure the ends.
This activity definitely required a lot of fine motor skills and patience!
Little sister got in on the fun, too! She enjoyed playing peek-a-book with the twine.

My son liked adding stripes to his design! We chose neutral colors to go with his bedroom, but you could make these as colorful as you want.
He quickly added his favorite cars to the basket and displayed it on his shelf.
This woven strawberry basket craft was so simple, but we’re really pleased with the results!
