Since this week is Children’s Book Week, I thought I’d share a few book inspired activities that were shared on It’s Playtime!
We are book lovers in this house, I’m just no good at putting activities together with the book. So, hopefully these will inspire me a little, too.
First, I just wanted to mention that No Twiddle Twaddle has a great list of books that are great for babies!
Now, onto the activities that were inspired by some favorite children’s books!
Above, clockwise from top-left:
- Set up a play scene and get dirty with Baby Hippo in the book Kiss Kiss! at Adventures in Reading with Kids!
- Primary Learning Logs has loads of wormy ideas for activities to go with the children’s book, An Earthworm’s Life.
- Gratefully Growing in Grace worked on word families after reading The Little Red Hen.
- The Carrot Seed (the Virtual Book Club‘s book last month) sparked the idea for plant labels for their garden at Rainy Day Mum. Be sure to check out all The Carrot Seed activities in the linky for the book club.
