Grab your favorite blocks and let’s do some color sorting!
All you need is some colored paper and colored blocks, whether they’re your child’s colored wooden blocks, Legos or other colorful toy. Use colored paper in matching colors of your blocks.
Simply lay out the color paper and have your child sort the blocks onto the corresponding colors.
For older kids, you can make this a lesson in mixing colors. Use secondary colors as your paper colors and have your child figure out what two colors to place together to make that color of the paper, and sort likewise.
You can also make this an active game by having the blocks on one side of the room and the paper on the other. Have your child pick up a block, race across the room and find the right color of paper. Rush back to get the next block! Race yourself or a friend!
This is would be a great active indoor activity to add to our active indoor week of activities! Check it out if you’re itching to get moving, but can’t get outside.
