Here is Henry’s and my entry for the Tissue Box Challenge put on by The Activity Mom and JDaniel4′s Mom.
Puffs Easter Bunny!
This is as crafty as we get here. Totally out of our element. But it was so simple and quick to make!
Materials you’ll need:
- 1 small Puffs tissue box (full)
- 1 toilet paper roll (empty)
- white paper/art paper/butcher paper
- 2 googly eyes
- cotton balls
- white and pink foam sheets
- coconut
- glue
- scissors
- paintbrush
- pink highlighter
- black marker
- scotch tape
Here’s how Henry and I put together the Puffs Easter Bunny:
Before inviting Henry to join me, I opened the tissue box and wrapped it in the white paper using scotch tape. [Lay the tissue box on its side when wrapping.]
Then I cut a slotted hole on the side where the tissues come out.
Then Henry added glue to the wrapped tissue box
and spread it around with a paintbrush.
Henry sprinkled coconut to stick on the glue.
While Henry was doing that, I cut the toilet paper tube in half and covered it with white paper. And taped it onto the center of the bottom side of the tissue box. [The opposite side of where the tissues come out.]
I also cut ears out of white foam and a smaller set out of the pink foam.
Henry peeled and stuck the pink foam ears onto the white ears. [Use glue if you don't have sticky back foam.]
Then to stick the ears to the box, I peeled only the bottom half of white foam ears, cut the paper, and stuck them to the box above the toilet paper tube.
Henry filled the toilet paper roll with cotton balls full enough so the cotton balls stuck out the side.
I cut the remaining half of toilet paper tube in half again and wrapped both pieces with white paper. Then I taped the bottom of the tubes to the bottom of the tissue box to make feet.
Henry filled the toilet paper tube feet with more cotton balls.
Then he glued googly eyes to the front of the first toilet paper tube to make a face.
I added a quick dot of pink highlighter for the nose and some black whiskers.
Then… the fun part! Henry pulled out a tissue for the tail!
Hoppity Hop Hop Hop! Here’s the Puffs Easter Bunny!
Henry is really proud of his rabbit, even if he only did a few parts.
What can you make out of tissue boxes?
