This is a sample of activities I use in the kids activities planner for the week.
Don’t have the kids activities planner? Get it here free and use it week after week.
In each week for the activities planners, I try to include:
- a gross motor activity
- a fine motor activity
- a craft
- an art project
- an outdoor activity
- an experiment or something to get them thinking
- a family activity for Sunday
Monday: Make a walking stick
What’s needed:
- a found stick!
- Paint, we used Crayola washable paint, but a non-washable paint would probably work better to last
- Paintbrushes
- Pruners or Loppers to clean up stick

Tuesday: Make a straw necklace
What’s needed:
- Ribbon, shoelace, yarn or other type of string
- Straws

Wednesday: Trace lines of sidewalk chalk
What’s needed:
- Sidewalk chalk
- Paved driveway or sidewalk
- Water
- Larger paintbrush or foam brush [dig in your stash of painting tools, not the kids]
- Container for water
Click to see how we traced squiggly lines
Thursday: Challenge kids to a jumping game
What’s needed:
- Tape for indoors or sidewalk chalk for outdoors
Click to see how we did a jumping game
Friday: Explore textures in your yard or neighborhood
What’s needed:

Saturday: Do a science experiment to see what dissolves in water.
Some to try:
- Several jars, containers, glasses, cups, that are clear
- Water
- Pantry items [spices, oatmeal, etc], or could take it outside and do items from nature too
Click to see how we did our what dissolves experiment
Sunday: Family Day! Go on a family bike ride to the park to play
