Now its a Soothing Boy Room

Thank goodness Sherwin-Williams sponsored and helped get this bedroom redone!

I showed you my Whoops! room…  remember?

A little bright, if I recall. Thankfully, that photo is all I have left to see of it.

It’s now calm and much more soothing and perfect for Louis to grow up in.

I ended up choosing the subdued colors in green and brown and looks very clean with lots of white, idea from Decor Demon. I wasn’t brave enough to do an all white room like they did [although that's absolutely stunning]. I chose to do the walls in green and chose one wall to do the stripes that they did on the ceiling.

I debated between horizontal and vertical stripes, I really despise painting horizontal stripes because of our totally-not-level house. But in the end chose to do them. Thankfully my husband helped out with marking the lines and taping off.

What I loved most about using the Chip It! tool from Sherwin-Williams is that it pulled the accent colors out of the photo that I would have never noticed. The blues were the perfect accents to brighten up this bedroom!

I took my Chip It! results to the Sherwin-Williams store to buy their zero VOC, Emerald Paint. I thought it was kind of funny when the sales person asked if I’d like to see the paint chips that were selected and suggested I pick a shade lighter of the green. No way! That green was perfect and I’m so glad I stuck to it. The only thing I changed up from the Chip It! results was the color of white to match my ceiling color instead of the ‘Extra White’ that was suggested.

I brought in blue accents in the room decoration. The ‘L’, in the first photo, has been a work in progress since Christmas. The boys helped me put the finishing touches on it in just the right shade of blue! I also found these adorable Train prints from Paper Llamas that she customized to these colors. [The Chip It! tool made it super simple to send her the image with the colors that I was going to be using.]

I feel like I can breathe and relax now in the room. I don’t have to be bouncing off the walls every time I walk into the room finally!

What do you think? Did I make the right choice of colors?

Will a little boy be able to grow up with this bedroom?

I would decorate my daughter’s room. A well meaning relative decorated it and it’s…not my taste.
