Mazes for preschoolers, and really for all kids, are great for problem solving.
There’s no doubt about it, life is going to throw you a curve ball at some time or another. No matter what you’ve planned, life can always take you in unexpected directions.
To achieve your dream, your finish line, sometimes you have to fail before you succeed. There are roadblocks, dead ends.
Sometimes you can push through, other times you’ll have to take a step back and try another direction.
Mazes are a perfect example to show young kids about achieving your dreams, and problem solving to figure out what the best route will be to get you there.
Our sponsor, Monsters University is screaming this message, it is truly the theme of the movie. Mike’s dream is to become a Scarer, and even though he’s not at all scary, he’s determined to do it. He battles one obstacle after another throughout the movie to become a Scarer. He’s living a maze, running into dead ends and having to turn around to find another way to achieve his dream.
Kids can learn a lot from this movie, but the theme is probably a little over a preschooler’s head, at least mine. So we play mazes a lot to learn about achieving their dreams! It shows them to never give up, that the right path is there, they just have to keep looking to find it.
Here’s 5 mazes for preschoolers that we’ve done, and learned from!
- Simple and easy, a big maze out on the driveway just to drive through. Simple problem solving!
- Add numbers to a big maze outside for preschoolers to practice counting their way through.
- Use tape inside to make a maze on the floor. Add numbers to count through.
- Or use letters to make your way through the alphabet.
- Use the chalkboard and make a maze with letters, to follow the letter through the maze.
5 more awesome mazes for preschoolers that I want to try with the kids:
- Just a plain tape maze, but huge, on the floor from Adventures at Home with Mum.
- Learning math with a block maze from Little Moments to Embrace.
- Even shapes can be learnt in a maze, from Creative Family Fun.
- An a-Mazing (haha! Yes, I had to) Lego maze for kids from Kids Activities Blog.
- Mazes can even be made with playdough. How fun! From Squashed Tomatoes.
Be sure to check out all our mazes for kids as well as Monsters University, own it first on Digital HD 10/8 & Blu-ray™ Combo Pack on October 29th, to learn about believing in yourself and achieving your dreams!
And remember that mazes are not just about the learning of numbers and abc’s, but also about problem solving and figuring how to get to that end goal!
How did you believe in yourself and achieve your Dream?

I always wanted to be a writer (I used to give/sell my short stories to any of the elementary school staff I could convince to take a story!), but “never had the time” to write. I got married right out of high school; my oldest son was born near the end of my first year of college; and a year later I was a divorced single mom. But I eventually realized that you have to MAKE time to achieve your dreams, and decided to enter a contest at the college I was attending (I returned to college later in life). I won first place! Since then I’ve been published four times and am starting to establish a name for myself in writing circles (though I write under a pen name). All it took was realizing that there are no excuses to going for your dreams, and I was able to start achieving them.

Growing up I always wanted to be a math teacher. Not only because I loved math but because I loved being around children. I got married before going to school but still planned on doing so until I became pregnant. That’s when I decided that what I wanted to be more than anything is a mom, a great mom that is always there.
So my greatest accomplishment is my children. And they define me and make me the person that I am today. I strive to be an example that they can always look up to.

Knowing that they are counting on me to provide for them has helped me be a believer in myself. I am almost done with school and will be getting a much better job soon, with better pay and better hours! I couldn’t have done it without my children! It also helps that I have my Dad and Mom rooting me on and telling me how proud they are of me for working so hard and accomplishing my dreams.
Tammy Woodall says
As I grow older, I look at things in life much differently than I did when I was younger. When I was younger, I made goals and made them happen no matter how hard it was to complete. (Example, Single Mom, worked full-time and part-time job, and simultaneously went to college to earn my Bachelors Degree – I accomplished my goals, however, I learned that the most important things in life are not always obtaining a piece of paper of accomplishment (degree) or just making ends meet (although necessity of life), the most important things for me are God and family. Everything else falls into place after those two very important elements are in one’s life.

It has helped us enough to keep me being a stay at home mom and we are all well provided for :) Thank you for the amazing giveaway and good luck to all!

As a Mom of grown children all my dreams for years were focused on them to learn to achieve their dreams. Now one teaches students in Family Consumer Science (career awareness and child development, one is in his second year of medical school and our youngest 6’5″ tall son is now going to college in his second year. It definitely was a challenge because I didn’t get much help from my husband that is a farmer but every struggle made me stronger to make them good citizens and they are today. So I am proud of just being a Mom that loves and now is letting go of her grown children to achieve their dreams. Now my life can become my dream world for awhile until we get grandchildren. :)

I’m in the process of my dream. I had my first child at 19, second at 22, and also have Muscular Dystrophy. All of that had hindered me from going to college. I started back in college last year when my youngest was 3, and now 1½ years later I only have 2 semesters to go before my AS degree is done! I just applied on Saturday night to the University of Idaho to get my BS degree!! It was always a dream to have a college degree, and now I’m almost halfway to getting it and being able to work in developmental disabilities (my oldest has high functioning Autism)!!

First, I married the man God led me to – someone who supports me in my dream to be a stay-at-home mom. Then I’ve figured out ways to keep to a one-income budget with 3, soon to be 4 boys, either by cutting expenses or finding ways to bring in some extra money on the side.
Kristen Coronado says
I achieved my goal of owning a business by listening to the advice of both people who had tried and succeed and failed. You can learn a lot by paying attention to others mistakes and not making them your self. We researched and learned everything we could about our target market, advertising, and what we needed to be successful. We pitched our ideas to investors and finally had enough money to open our personal training studio. We offer family work outs. Families come in (and some singles too) and have a personal trainer that helps them interact with each other on their own levels. Not only are these families getting healthy together and teaching their children the importance of a healthy life style. They are spending quality time together, making memories, and reinforcing their relationships!
Ann Hoven says
Lots if trial and error and good friends have helped me on the way. I’ve achieved a mental state of peace and pure zen it’s taken a lot to get to the dream mental state I’ve thus far achieved and maintained. A good system I found out was to take a jar and decorate it (with whatever you goal is, like maybe losing weight for example) and then filling the jar with one rock when you accomplished a step towards that goal (like for the losing weight example, every day that you ate well). The more the jar was filled, the more motivated I was to keep going – and there’s always the choice of emptying the jar if you slip up on purpose (like for the losing weight example, not eating healthy, etc.)
It works great for me!
