It’s Playtime! : Play Recipes

It's Playtime

Recipes for play!
Making your own recipes is not only cheaper, but usually its better than the store-bought kind.
Plus, making the goodies with your preschooler is an activity itself!

We may have our tried and trued recipes that we use over and over.
[Henry and I have only attempted one playdough recipe so far! Eeek!]

But there are many versions of every recipe!
[The Imagination Tree is loaded with lots of playdough recipes to try out.]

Cathy from the NurtureStore just released an eBook of playdough recipes.
[Which includes ideas for materials to combine with the playdough for extra fun!]

Playdough is a pretty easy and common recipe to start with.
But, have you stretched beyond your comfort zone?

Have you made your own paint? perfume? Gak?

How about letting the kids have a try at making their own cookies?

And these are just recipes for play that were linked up from last week’s It’s Playtime!
There are so many more out there! Go explore and make it yourself!

[By the way, last week we had a record 116 play ideas! Keep those playful posts coming!]

It’s Playtime is a community for play loving bloggers to share ways to play, hosted by:
How to Play :
  • Share a post about a playful activity.
  • Grab the It’s Playtime button and pop it into your post/blog. Invite your readers to the weekly playdate!
  • Stop by every Thursday and add your link about play. Your link will show up on each of the blogs in the It’s Playtime community.
  • Each week the playtime hosts will choose favorite posts to feature. (By linking you are giving us permission to use an image and link back to you, if featured.)
  • Visit other posts that catch your eye. Commenting on posts that you find interesting or inspiring is a wonderful way to develop your own playful community.
  • This is not the place to link up posts with worksheets, printables, giveaways, or promotions.

Aww… I linked up and even missed it the first time. Thanks so much for sharing my 3 Ingredient PB Cookies! LOVE your site! So many great ideas for the kids. Thanks for hosting!!!

Our go-to recipe is either cake mix cookie or lowfat cake with cake mix and canned pumpkin. Both have very few ingredients… that seems to be the key for getting my kids involved and interested! I love cooking with my kids so I'm happy you featured that this week!

  3. Love this. Found you on blogfrog. Also a follower now. Thanks for all the kid tips. Can never have enough ideas to keep the little ones busy. Come visit me at http://www.candysfavorties.blogspot.com
