Mixing together a few ingredients, creating a concoction that does wonders.
Your kids will love this challenge!
And learn a little about science in the process.
Vinegar and Baking Soda.
Oh the magic.
Adding a little color to it adds a whole new element of fun!
Mixing and dropping the vinegar in and watching it explode.
It never gets old. [Even for the adults!]
We used four jars and added food coloring in the bottom of each.
Henry added some a lot of baking soda to each jar.
We then poured in the vinegar, over and over.
First starting with little squirts and watching it fizz.
Eventually building up to the explosions!
“Do it again!” was a popular phrase while mixing our concoctions.
- Spread baking soda on a tray and squirt on colored vinegar. [See Kids Experiment]
- Pour milk in a shallow tray, add food coloring in the center. Dip a Q-Tip in dish soap and touch the center of the milk and watch it spread.
- Mix cornflour and water, its a fun mixture!
- Mix everyday household ingredients and ‘make’ something up! [See Stirring & Mixing]

Ironically, we did some baking soda and vinegar experimenting recently. I was going to post about it, but never did! Now I have inspiration to post it!
Oooooh COOL! MY son will LOVE THIS!!!!!
I took this challenge to my sisters house and we played together with her three kids. We also made oobleck and they all found it very interesting and fun.

We did ours today, it was so much fun watching the kids faces as they dumped more baking soda in and watched it foam! I have photos of all my challenges (minus the kids sadly due to regs) but the activities will all be there in my FB album to remember the next time I am puzzled about what we should do to play that day.
thanks so much for all the great ideas!
I have yet to try baking soda and vinegar. Oh my son is going to have some fun with this!
My boys are going to love love love that I found you
